i feel bad that im posting after such a long time, and its for some help.. lol.. forgive me fellas..
i seem to be hearing this grinding noise from my front left wheels when i brake slowly.. i played around to see wat it could be.. i turn left and brake and the grind was still there, but when i turn right and brake it doesnt grind at all.. i thought i had worn out my pads becuz they used to squeal like pigs before. now i feel like theres a rock stuck somewhere between the pads and the rotors.. its annoying and scaring the hell out of me... ne help?

Could be an upperstrut bearing. I've heard that they can cause similar sounding issues as the ones you are describing, but have no personal experience to back them up.

ive been around.. working on my nypd status lol.. yes im stickin with it...

back to the topic.. i took it to my mechanic and it was my brake pads.. they were worn all the way down to the base part of the pads.. which was rubbin on the rotors.. ****ed up my rotors a bit, but i got the pads changed and ill change the rotors in the near future. no more grizzly horrible sounds coming from my brakes!!

 

How the H*LL did you wear out a set of pads in this short a period of time, SPeeD?? I've got 40k miles on mine and they are still at least 50%!!!

 

when u drive fast, u brae ahrd i guess.. but even i was wondering the same thing...... i think that the brakes r a lil sticky.. mayb they keep rubbing on the rotors even while im NOT braking.. cus sometimes when i gas from a stop, i hear the brakes squealing..

 

He wore out pads in two years, but apparently the previous owner of the Malibu wore rotors in 33K miles. Now that's some hard drivin'.
