Weird Stalling/Hesitation Issue: 2009 Mazda 3 2.3L
Just bought this car with 131k miles (auto tran) and it has a weird issue that I can’t figure out. Basically you can feel the car excessively vibrate/hesitate when slowly pressing/depressing the brake during low speeds, like when backing up/entering a parking spot, on bumper to bumper traffic or red light.
On some occasions the engine stalls and I have to turn it back on. No CEL lights but haven’t run the OBD diagnostic tool I have on it yet. I already cleaned the throttle body (it’s electronic), cleaned the MAF, replaced the engine air filter, engine oil, and plan to replace the spark plugs soon just for maintenance purposes.
My mechanic told me to save up for a transmission when I bought it since they are a hit or miss as the mileage racks up and didn’t recommend an ATF flush because it could cause more damage than good if it has never been replaced before. Other than that the car drives and shifts smooth.
