i have the base model that doesn't have an alarm but there is a little light that flashes in the speedometer area...does my car still have some sort of secuirty feature... and if it does isn't it point less since its a manual car and all you have to do is pop the ignition and turn with screw driver and off you go..?

 

does it look likea key inside a car?
if so, thats for the immobolizer that every mazda3 has.
that means you cant steal the car (or even drive it) unless you have the key.
thats also why the keys are so damn expensive

 

yea thats what it is, o cool, so that means the most a thief can do is jack my **** out the car but my car can't go anywhere since he doesnt have the key.

 

Well, that's the theory anyway.
Sure, it'll make it harder for theives to steal your car. I doubt we have too much to worry about anyway.
And keep you sh*t out of site or out of the car when you're not with it and your chances of getting ripped off will be much slimmer.

When I still lived in an apartmentin Austin, some jerk broke into my neighbor's 10 yr old POSVW Rabbit. She couldn't figure out why, when all she had in it were some POS 6x9's in the back AND her cell phone on the front seat AND here CD's between and on the passenger seat... and all in plain site too!!?
When she told me that I just walked away. I can only imagine what the cops said when she told them that. (DUMBDUMBDUMBDUMBDUMBbbbb!!!)
