Default Whistle while you drive

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my 2006 Mazda 3. I get a whistle sound when I get up to speeds of 80 mph and it has to be windy outside. (Yes way above the speed limit)
The first time I heard the whistle I thought the car was going to break down. I pulled over to check it out, but nothing.
When you hearthe whistle, you think it is coming from the vents. This is very embarrassing when I have passengers. At times the whistle can become so loud it takes over any music that I might be playing on thestereo.
I took it into the dealer twice. They think I am crazy, as they only put the car on the rack took the tires off once and tell me everything is fine. Well I will be passing the 36,000 mile warranty mark soon and I still get this loud whistle noise. I am no expert but the sound seems like it is coming from the left front fender well and coming all the way through the dashboard. One thing I did notice is the vent slots underneath the driver side fender well are a different size from the passenger side?
Has anyone heard of any similar problems with the Mazda 3? If so, what is the fix?

Thanks

Tomazda

No, in his case it was his wind/bug deflector causing the noise.

you guys are right. it was the bug deflector. if you have one it could be the weather stripping on the bug deflector if you have one. that was the issue for me. does it sound like its coming from the dashboard. the sound does sort of sound like its coming from the vents.. if you do have one check the bug deflector

Finally got back to the forum, all good ideas! No I don’t have a bug deflector but an interesting thought about the windshield SPeeDY3. I was more leaning to the thought that it is coming from the fender vents? I may cover them with duck tape or something and test. Windshield???? Any other thoughts?
