Default 2010 Mazda 5 cargo space

I am a wouldbe owner, love the M5, but cargo space is an important factor. The info avaliable is so confusing, can anyone share some ideas on the 2010 M5 cargo space, ,

1) can I fit a box of 6ft x 4ft x 2ft into the M5
2) can the 2nd & 3rd row seats be taken out

Thanks very much!

2) No, the 3rd and 2nd fold with a guess of 3 feet between cargo floor and headliner. Sorry, no ruler and no Mazda5 at my fingertips.

It actually is completely possible to remove the seats. I have done it myself. please go to this link in the instructables website. I am the author of the page. the whole process can be done, by yourself, in about 30min.

Hi JaSo,

I am not sure about the 2010 model, but the 2007 UK model has 873 litres with the to rearmost seats folded down.

Hope this helps.

I think six feet may be a bit too long, I will have to go and measure to be sure. the second and third row seats can easily be taken out with the removal of some bolts (thirteen I believe, five for the rear and four on each second row seat).

With the front seats all the way forward, six feet will fit, but will be an uncomfortable drive. four foot wide will not fit unfortunately, three will but not four. two foot high will definitely fit. oh and bye the way I have an 08 model but I'm sure the dimensions are the same

Well it would be a bit short for your average human casket, but I couldn't resist the connection... or the joke.

Thank you for all your helpful replies, and funny indeed.

In addtion to all the nice things about the M5, I need to use it for driving my 9year old girl with a grand harp around/cross town for her concert performance, so cargo space is very important. Looks like I better check out the KIA Rondo as well.

Come to think of it, the harp is 70"x36.5"x18" without the case, any chance it will fit in the M5 with the 2nd & 3rd row taken out? thanks again.

Honestly, and based solely on lnwf's measurements, it sounds like it would be a stretch to me. Even if it did work, you would leave yourself no room for error, if you know what I mean.

And I just had another thought: What if that Mz5 hearse was a stickshift?
