Default Another front seat removal question.

I've been reading the forums and think I might have a solution for what I'm looking for but not sure...

I have a 2007 Mazda5 and I will be taking a series of road trips soon with lots of cargo and I want to remove all seats accept driver seat, for extra storage. I know how to get them all out, but I'm reading that taking out the front passenger seat and disconnecting the airbag wire clip underneath will disable the entire airbag system. I don't want to get on the road without my driver airbag, so can I somehow disconnect that entire assembly casing under the seat (to leave connected in the car) so that I'm not actually "unclipping anything"? And that would allow me to get all seats out (accept driver) while keeping the airbags active? Thanks in advance for any help.
