Default Auto Express (UK) This Week - New Ford !

Seen P13 of this week's Auto Express (bottom of the page).

"Fords all-new MPV slides in"

If that's all new, I'm a monkey's uncle - something of the Mazda 5 about it methinks

The "journalist" had the front to write "unmistakably Ford" - All they've done is change the badge.

Even more bizarrely, it's only going to be sold in Taiwan

I'll scan the article later for those of an American persuasion.

Why screw with a good product if all it needs is a littlefacelift? (headlights, grille, front fenders are unique from what I can see in the picture.) Change for change sake only wastes money if your spending it on things the consume really doesn't care about.

Let me ask you this...do you think it's a good looking car? I do.

I don't know what the market penetration for Mazda is in Taiwan, it may be that within that particular market, Ford vehicles are an easier sell due to the dealer network.

Absolutely, my gripe isn't with Ford - after all "badge engineering" is hardly a new phenomenon. It's the shoddy journalism - this magazine road tested the Mazda5 (with a favourable report) only a fortnight before - yet the headline describes it as "all new".
