Default Bake and Paint Headlights???

Hey guys - I want to bake my headlights and pry them apart so I can paint the inner-housing. I've done this on my Subaru with no problems at all. I know a lot of people have done their protege's, but I haven't heard of anyone doing their 5's. Can anyone confirm this can be done?

It's done to the 3 series all the time to install angel eyes, so why not the 5? They are virtually the same car under the skin. I know they don't interchange, car to car, but I'm sure theengineering is very similar.
Some say 200* for 20 mins on a cookie sheet, carefully watched.
Other's say a heat gun is better and/or safer.
Since I haven't done it myself, I have no personal recommendations for you.
