Bonnet Paddle / Catch rubber cover

Bonnet Paddle / Catch rubber cover
I'm having trouble buying a replacement one because ebay / google etc think i mean different parts.
What I need is the rubber cover for the hand operated metal paddle AT THE FRONT OF THE CAR. The paddle you reach in between the bonnet and car and push to the right slightly to unclip the bonnet. I keep cutting my fingers on the bare metal it's sharp.
Or a suggestion for a suitable soft material to cover it myself.
Does anyone know what the rubber cover is called ? Or can think of a home made one ?

Simplest thing would probably be to clean it thoroughly, file down rough edges, and then wrap it with electrical tape.
If you’re able to remove it completely you could do a plasti-dip like that meant for tool handles.
