Can I use 10w40 oil in my mazda5 1.8 ts2
Hi Guys,
I have recently bought a mazda5 1.8 ts2 2009 Petrol Engine, I live in the north of England.
I have a spare 20 litre container of 10w40 engine oil which is ACEA A3 compliant. I used to use this oil in my previous car and was wondering if it's ok to use in my mazda.
According to the manual it should be OK 10w40 is in the table (on page 8-20, unless I'm misunderstanding the manual!)... but the reason I'm being cautious is that it seems every website where you buy oil tells me to get 5w30.
Any advice appreciated,
Thanks

10W-40 won't damage your engine but make is less fuel efficient than 5W-30.
If you want to use your oil up I suggest to eithe rmix it with new 5W-30 or to use the thicker stuff only in the summer.
