Curt Manufac 1 1/4" Hitch on a Touring 5
Greetings! Has anyone installed the Curt hitch on a Touring edition of the Mazda5? eTrailer sells that along with the Hidden Hitch and the Drawtite Brand. However, with the Curt brand, it shows compatibility with only the Sport. The Curt model looks more substantial and is attached at more places. I will be towing a light weight aluminum trailer with a small 200 lb Cataman. Hope i don't burn out the tranny.http://www.etrailer.com/hitch-2006_Mazda_5.htm

it's only been a couple days....give him some time.....most of us have little kids climbing all over us, between squeezing in our car projects.....
i am curious too. tho i would feel silly towing w/my little beepbeep of a car....doesn't mean i won't try it.

I just installed the Curt hitch on my Sport and don't think it matters which model 5 you have for the hitch application. Rear bumper covers are the same whether Sport, Touring, or Grand Touring so I wouldn't worry about it. FYI - UHaul's hitch is a Curt hitch and sells for cheap...I got mine for about $130 shipped. I bought the Curt because of how it mounts...did not like how the other brands used the shipping tiedown loop. Curt has 4 bolts into the frame.
