Default driver door won´t unlock

Hi

If I use the remote on my Mazda 5 I can lock and unlock all doors without problems. If the doors are locked, I can manually unlock them with the slider on each door - all besides the drivers door. I can lock that one either with the remote or manually but once locked I cannot unlock it manually anymore. The slider wont move I can unlock it only using the remote...
does anyone have a clue what the problem might be?

I’d pull the door panel and see if there’s something broken on the inside of that lever. If the power lock/unlock is working it means the rod assembly still works fine.

when I lock it manually, I can unlock it a few times without any problems. but after a while it locks for good and eventually it unlocks only using the remote control

Definitely seems like an issue with just the mechanical switch.... something is getting bound up inside of that thing.

Does pulling the door release not unlock it? I can’t recall from my 5, but that tends to be a safety in most cars.

No, it won´t unlock using the door release only. And yes, I do recall this as safety feature form other cars as well...
