flash pcm?
I'm replacing the PCM in my 2006 Mazda 5 and am wondering if these MUST be flashed/reprogrammed when going from one vehicle to another? Thanks so much for any help you can provide.
Additional information: Our 5 was throwing a P0762 Solenoid C Stuck On code. We replaced the transmission with a used one and it ran okay for about 5 days, then it threw the same code. What are the chances of two different transmissions throwing the exact same code? We decided to go for changing the PCM since the likelihood of the solenoids and/or valves going bad in two different transmissions seems fairly low. Thoughts? Advice?

As a general rule we will do what is called a "pass through" which simply verifies the VIN mating it with a ECU with all the current updates etc. Mazda has a specific software we must access and use which is a paid subscription for all the current information to use. Depending on where you got your ECU , if it is from a donor vehicle you may have to do it, from a retailer of rechecked/rebuilt ECUs then read the information supplied from the supplier about the procedure and anything you must or may need to do?
Your P0762 code is only a starting point to looking for the problem.
