Default Grinding Noise in Front

It's mostly noticeable when going over a bump and turning slow. What do I need to check to isolate this problem?

including this one I have 597 posts and most of them are replies. Hey you get what you pay for. Except here, you get more than that!

Grinding noise from the front over bumps and when turning. From the left or from the right? Jack it up, secure it with jack stands and inspect the suspension, steering, CV joints. Are all rubber parts in place and in good condition? Grab the wheel 6 and 12 o'clock and try to push it in and out. Any wiggles? Grab it 3 and 9 o'clock and rock it. it should give some but maybe it makes a knock and you can feel play. There shouldn't be play.

My educated guess: the CV joints are bad.

I second Wheel Bearing as being the problem.

Rubber parts look good, no wiggles and play. You still think CV joints?

But did you replace the hold down hardware?
A few years ago when i had my brakes services, he took it for a test drive and the one front side was making a noise. He had to re-bend the thin hardware to make noise go away. I bought new hardware this time and hardware was falling apart.

Probably not CV joints. They should make a click-click... when you make tight turn.
Since you did not get a wiggle at all I am thinking brakes or wheel bearing. Did you do the brakes yourself or a mechanic?
I agree with UseYourNoggin that the hardware could be at the root of this.

Maybe you look at some Youtubes "grinding noise on the front". If you are lucky you may find one that sounds just like yours.

I had it inspected at a shop and took them a couple of hours to find the source of the noise and said it was the sway bar bushing. They want $345 for parts and labor which I thought was too much.

Is it safe to drive the car knowing the bushings need replacement?
Is it easy to do the replacement?
