Mazda 5 Diesel Sport

If I tow the caravan it drops to 35.9mpg.
Driving hard (and I mean racing from lights and travelling fast) the lowest I got it to was 36.6mpg.
Average overall for 13500+ miles is 46.0mpg.
Driving carefully as I recently have I'm now getting 51-53mpg.
This car even runs in 6th from around 35mph, keep the revs down below 2,000.
Last tank got to 649 miles on 56 litres.

Now going to try for my first 700+ mile tank, that tank will be on fumes, if any of you see a copper red mazda 5 at the side of the road it's probably me and I've run out of fuel

Good luck getting 700 miles!!! in a mazda 5???

If I am doing all highway driving I can get approx 600 km's on a full tank. That is equal to around 375 miles give or take. Unless you have some huge aftermarket gas tank, or some intense modification to the car, I cant see how it would be at all even close to get to 700 Miles.

700 KM's would even be pushing it, but I could see this being possible under the right conditions.

I got the 2.0l petrol sport in July (08), Now done 10000 miles, the tyres (Dunlop SP2050) look fair, although the front inside edges look more of a 45° angledshape than a normal round edge. I get an overall average of 29MPG. I do acceleratehard & fast (GPS said over 120) Speedo is about 7% out (100 indicated is 93 according to GPS).

I'm getting a bit bored now with trying to get the best MPG so have been driving my normal way.... Still getting around 42mpg though.

2008 2.0D Sport with luxury pack.

I noticed that the mazda manual shows that the center console is capable of showing mpg or liters used or left in the tank? has anyone seen this work?

Peterr, since you state in another thread that you own a GT, that system should already be in place and active in your 5 series. Please see the owners manual for it"s operation. I"m sure that"ll answer all of your questions.
Also, keep in mind that those systems are never completely accurate, often off by up to 2mpg+/- at any given moment.
