I have a Mazda 5 sport diesel 2008 model this car has only done 35k miles on the clock its had a new reconditioned engine,before the engine went the car was running perfectly,but after the new engine was fitted, when you turn the ignition to start it,it want crank its just dead checked all the wiring to the starter motor and they are all intact,but if you crank it from the battery to starter direct it doesn't start.However I have spoken to a few people and they all reckon the immobilizer is activated and it want let the car crank,but I am the first owner out of the car from the showroom and I have 2 original keys for it.and according to my knowledge even if the immobilizer is activated it should crank and not start.

 

I don't think it will crank if the immobiliser is active. You'll need to get it plugged in to diagnostics to see if the ECU is recognising the key. There's no other way round it.

 

Thank you for you quick reply Nick C,I have been trying to figure out which is a good software to use on these Mazdas that can also program keys and do a few adaptation if necessary.I do have a few softwares and cables but they can not do any adaptation.Thank you
