Default Mazda 5 Diesel Sport Servicing UK

Hi, Anybody advise as to how much the first service (10,000 miles) should cost. Been quoted £300 plus they are recommending engine flush for £30 on top of £300.
Car is Mazda 5 diesel sport.

Thanks very much for your time

Hi, I was under the impression the first service is at 12,000 miles. Anyway, I've not had mine long enough yet, but speaking to a neighbour with the same car, he said it was £232 in Stockport.
How are your tyres wearing? I'm having great difficulty in getting Mazda to accept that my severe tyre wear on the inside edges is a fault with the car.

Thanks for the reply. My car is now 12 months old which is why the service is due. Took my car in for its service and a recall for camshaft plate. Garage rang saying there is another recall on vehicle to replace bushes, they also stated that all 4 tyres are badly worn on the inside and it is dangerous to drive. Thay said Mazda agree to replace 2 rear tyres under warranty but not the front. I said I wasnt hapy with this as car has only done 10,000 miles and they agreed to discuss with Mazda as they appreciate many other people having same problems. As it stands the car is still in the garage and I have one of their courtesy cars which I intend to keep until they have replaced all tyres free of charge (and check for wheel alignmnent)and carried out the recall work.

Just spotted you're in Lancashire. Are you using the Bolton dealership? They're looking at my tyre wear problem on Friday, and reckon that it's the first example of this they've heard of, and is definitely NOT a car fault. (they've quoted £289 for the service).

Dave.

Hi, I am using Perrys in Preston. They are very understanding (but not enough to pay for tyres). They have had my car for a week doing service and recalls etc. Mine is the sixth car they have seen with tyre problems and I told them to ring Nicole at Mazda UK as people seem to be referring to her on here.. They have taken digital photos of the tyres and are sending them to Mazda but we have yet to agree with who pays for tyres. My front tyres are worse than back but all four are badly worn and they stated that Mazda recognise the problem with the rears but not the front. My car should be ready to pick up tomorrow but I am reluctant to pick it up until the tyre situation is sorted. Mazda say the tyres should be rotated at 6,000 miles and that it states this in the manual ( I didnt know about this) but as all four tyres are worn I dont see their argument. When I go in I am going in armed with info I printed from DTI website about consumer rights.

Hi again.
I had spotted the bit in the manual about rotating tyres every 6K, but in my cynical way I wondered if this was to hide the tyre wear until all the tyres had done 24,000 miles (two lots of 6000 on the front, and two lots of 6000 on the back)! Of course that would only work if the tyres only suffer abnormal wear on the front OR the back. If, like you, they are wearing out on both front AND back, then you've really got no chance!

Incidentally, when I contacted Mazda UK, I was hoping to hear from the legendary Nicole, however a guy called Jon Smith is dealing with my case. If Perrys deny Nicole's existance, point them at Jon.
