Yes, it's a tad pricey over here. It's just cost me £100.41 to fill my VW T4. And it wasn't empty

My diesel 2.0 Sport does around 38mpg (imperial) Not very impressive for a diesel.

Diesel currently 1.35/litre, that's £5.11/ US Gallon, or $8.34/ US Gallon.

Depressingly that is £6.14/Gallon (Imperial). I remember being upset when it exceeded £1/Gallon !

On the upside - Evian mineral water is around £1/litre, or £4.54/ Gallon or $6.18/ Gallon US !!

I have a 2lt sport and on a recent 350 round trip to Manchester i got an average 38 to the UK gallon (32 U.S)

on one 25 mile stretch of roadworks i got 56 to the uk gallon (46 U.S) at a steady 50 mph.

I got over 400 miles out of the tank of fuel

Default 5 Sport diesel

I average 400 miles to a tank normally, but on long motorway trips can get 500 miles to a tank. I once put it on cruise control at 60mph going up the M1 in the middle lane (and so never had to overtake anyone), and reckon I could get close to 600 miles.

The worst I've got is 350 to a tank, when I've done a lot of urban driving and used the air con a lot.

Default l/100m

Being new to Mazda, the economy readout of litres per 100 miles is very odd, but I can see why Mazda though it would useful.

Do US spec Mazdas show, mpg?

Our new 2.0 Sport (petrol) seems to be getting 29-30mpg doing a 50/50 mix of motorway/city driving.

Default Litres / 100 miles converter for Android

If you have an Android smartphone there's an app on Android Market called Converter by Asif that now converts litres/100 miles to UK mpg or any other consumption value you need.

I have an '08 Mazda 5 and find a very noticeable increase in consumption when there is a head wind, so factor this in especially for motorway cruising.

Default Mazda 5 fuel consumption

Hi all,
I bought a new Mazda 5 GS/2.5 engine Aug., 2012 and completely not
happy with its fuel consumption. The advertised is 9.7 litres/100 km.
in city(Canada model), or approx. 10 km. per litre. I hardly got 9 km. per litre in summer. And now in winter with snow tire, I only get 8 km. per litre.
Recently I saw Korean car manufacturer compensate the car buyers due
cars unable to produce fuel economy as adverised. Wonder if Mazda should
be doing the same thing.
Any Mazda 5 owners have similar problem, please advise. Thanks

I have an 08 1.8 petrol TS2, on combined I can get 34mpg (every morning I do about 4 miles open road and 6 city, light traffic, the return trip in moderate to heavy traffic). I haven't yet done a long motorway trip, but I am guessing that, keeping within the limits, I should get around 38-40 mpg.

Then again, I am a SAFED driver, and I try to always drive to SAFED standards. I get about 400 miles out of 53 litres. Gauge reads empty, but tank is 60 (officially)
