Default Mazda 5 Nav query

Hey everyone, very new owner here....looking forward to nattering with you all.

I have a quick query about the nav system installed in our Mazda 5 Sport Nav (08 model)

As far as I am aware, this car was specced to the eyeballs.....its has the lux pack etc.

When i go to the source list of our nav system, i see the screen shown in the attached pic. You can see there is an "Ipod" input shown.

Now, when i look at the manual for the sat nav system, there is no mention of this ipod connection at all. Its not even present in the screen shots of the source list.

Does this mean that ours might have had the Ipod add on installed?

How can I check?

I cannot find any ipod or usb connections anywhere at all?

Thanks
Andy

Hi, On the UK 2008 the input is right above to the 12v lighter socket under the gear stick. have to get down low to see it!

As Bulls says there is an AUX IN by the cigarette lighter but I don't think you will have full Ipod integration. I also have a 2008 sport nav with lux pack and can use the Ipod through the AUX In socket. We don't however have the Ipod icon as on your page shot but unless it's illuminated the Ipod function is not available. I'm not sure how you can get full Ipod integration, if you find out let me know.

You must get the ipod intergration stuff from the Mazda Dealer. Its expensive from what I remember. I have the same navi system and just use the aux input.

So it is normal for the NAV system to show the Ipod symbol even if the interface isnt installed?

Yea, pretty much. On my system is show's the ipod in a shaded box. but it isnt brightly highlighted or lit like the other sources that are available and able to select. If you get the stuff from the dealer to connect then it would light up and could be selected.
