Why doesnt Mazda do this? This is way too cool. I want it.

(Car and Driver take the guts from a Mazda Speed 3, and put it in a Mazda 5. Very cool).

The Mazda 5 is supposed to be a people mover, family oriented vehicle. True, it lacks Zoom Zoom but the turbo would price it out of the market. The Mazdaspeed 3 is lighter and lots of Zoom Zoom.
The reason why you want it is because it is different. Mazda will not mass produce this for you! It's nice to dream!
As shown these vehicles have to be custom made and have many issues and very $$$$$.

Its not so much that its different, but rather I want something fast & practical. My last car was a 2007 VW GTI which was damn fast and SOO much fun to drive, but so impractical for a family (especially since mine was a 2 door model). So we sold it and bought a 5.
The 5 is fun to drive, but needs a major power increase. Load it down with a family and a ton of camping gear and it is incredibly sluggish.

I actually briefly looked at the Mazda 5 before choosing the Mazda 6. I didn't like the 4 cyl power either. I wanted something with more pep and even better handling. My only regret is buying an automatic. My laziness took over on that one. I do drive alot in the city. I know they make an aftermarket supercharger for my car, but can't afford the $10,000 to: buy it, buy a taller hood, all new motormounts, & installation: 03-09 V6 Mazda 6 Magnuson MP90 Supercharged Kit NPG Racing
