RDS TMC on sat nav
Hi guys
Has anybody managed to come up with a solution for the standard oem stereo to get teh tmc information for the dynamic route guide.
I have posted previous threads regarding why we do not get it, but i looked at the system the other day and have found that i have the following system information.
0260 2005 version 1 TMC 10100401.
Does his mean anything to anybody, as my system will search for a tmc station but never finds one as i understand this is down to it being encrypted..
I have posted a thread to the Mazdampv forum in the states to see if they are able to answer the above...

You are not likely to be able extract TMC info from a normal car stereo. Even though that data is encoded into the RDS transmissions on some commercial FM stations like Classic FM, Leicester sound etc (not allowed on BBC). You need either an add-on FM receiver like what navigation company allow on particular models (eg. Tom Tom) or a seperate Bluetooth or hardwired GPS/FM receiver like used with IGO8 using for example GNS BT/TMC or Royaltek GPS/TMC recievers which are both Bluetooth GPS mousetype recievers where you need to add a silly little wire aerial. TMC is not free in the UK and Mazda appeaer not to offer a solution or route by which you can use it in their vehicles.
