Seat Belt Warning Bleeper - sensitivity

RE: Seat Belt Warning Bleeper - sensitivity
Just to close this out - it's clearly a Europe/USA thing rather than a Mazda thing.
I've just come back form a quick shopping trip with 4 litres of milk and4 litres of OJ on the passenger seat of my new Mazda 2 - no seatbelt warning.
I believe the current model 2 is not sold in the US.

RE: Seat Belt Warning Bleeper - sensitivity
Just bringing this one back from the depths !
I was demented by the warning buzzer on the way back from work with a Coke bottle in the passenger seat, reading this thread after a search it would seem that the US has a light that indicates if the Airbag is going to deploy or not & ours is simply an annoying buzzer if it detects anything heavier than a *** packet on the seat.
So is there anyway to get rid of the annoying buzzing as I & my passengers can remember to put a seat belt on.
Co.

Boy....this is an old thread.
I've never understood the term *** for cigarettes. (Means something way different over here)
You could try buckling the belt quickly then unbelting it. I know the car I drive now (Ford Taurus) gives a warning beeper if you start moving without your belt. If you buckle, then unbuckle the belt the beeper stops.
