Default Sport diesel engine undertray

I'm due to collect my 06 Sport 143 on Wednesday (agreed to buy before reading the tyre saga). When I looked under the bonnet, the undertray had a circular hole in it about 4 inches in diameter, with 3 cut-outs of slightly larger radius at 120 degree intervals. Looked like a removable access panel (for oil filter??) ought to be in there. The salesman says he has checked and they can't trace any part to fill that hole. The petrol model in the showroom didn't have a hole in that place.

Can anyone with a Sport diesel confirm what their undertray looks like, please?

Yep, your description fits perfectly. Mine has exactly the same hole. Fear not !

Well, you can fear the tyre wear I suppose!!

Many thanks, Dave. I can cross that off the worry list.
