Default Strange brake issues after pad replacement.

Replaced front brake pads with about 3 mil left before wear indicator. Rotors were in perfect shape, didn't touch them. Didn't bleed as I had a helper and just removed enough brake fluid to prevent overflow when I compressed the calipers.

Took it out and the brakes were great. Drove a few miles with some light braking, then did a firm brake from 45 to 15 mph twice to test them. This worked perfectly but then I had substantial sponge to the pedal with about 2 1/2 inches of mushy travel after engagement.

They have stayed this way. I tried bleeding the brakes and it didn't much help. The brakes will "pump up" and become firm with the engine off, but with the engine on it's right back to mush.

I considered something may have gone wrong with the ABS but I felt no shudder during hard braking that would have indicated it engaged. It was firm braking, not lock 'em up panic braking if that makes sense.

Baffled. A quart of Dot 3 through the system and I saw no air. I don't know if it could be the brake booster but it would be very odd for it to go out at just this moment.

I have a 2002 Infiniti Q45. I supplanted the front rotors and cushions on Sunday. It was whenever I've first done this on a vehicle, however I have done it on many times on different cruisers. I was mindful so as to apply appropriate force to all fittings and confirmed everything was clear prior to introducing the haggles the vehicle. The vehicle drove fine the entire week and afterward today the brakes began throbbing and uttering a sound at a similar snapshot of the beat at 20 mph. For 30 mph, the throbbing and sound become alarming, so I left the vehicle, set it up on jack stands, eliminated the wheels, and after review I can not observe anything clearly off-base. I saw that the right rotor has a few noticeable scratches on it, however I can't see whatever might contact the rotor with the exception of the cushions. The throbbing is completely musical, so I'm genuinely sure that whatever is causing the throbbing is additionally turning. The rotors and cushions are from Autozone.

Double check your brake lines for bulging when the petal is pressed. Check for a vacuum leak. To the brake booster.
