Default Tire wear on the canadian model

I've seen many posts regarding the tire issue on the UK model but very few on the canadian model. Here, the entry model comes with 205/55/16 wheelset. I am experiencing the same inner wear, especially on the rear tires. It' a 2008 with approx. 25000km on the OEM Proxes. With no surprise, my dealer did not tell me anything other than this was caused by a bad alignement...The previous alignment was done 5 months ago.

Anyhow, I went to a local tire store, one that sells tires for a living which is a good start, he should know what he is talking about! He told me the wear is caused by innapropriate tires for the vehicule. In fact, according to him, the wheel camber is very steep on the 5, so you need a tire made for this. The camber is similar to the one on VW and other german cars. He recommends the ContiExtremeContactDW which are assymetrical tires designed for cars with a strong camber.

Anyone ever heard anything similar?

Same thing goes with my tires. I tried to replace the original Toyo Proxes 205/50/17 with Falken ZIEX 912s and it wears only the inside for both front and rear. After exhausting the thread from inside I changed the Falkens and with cheaper Dunlops and after a few months same issue arised. Went back to dealer to have OEM tires without allignment and it fixed the issue. No more pulling to the right and threads wear evenly for both. I am not sure what the issue is but I am glad that this has fixed.

Default tire wear Canadian model

Not sure about the tire wear issue, but had the Conti Extreme Contact DW on my BMW and it's a great tire, very nice ride, good handling. I just bought a Mazda5 yesterday, glad to read about people's experience.
