What happens if i change out the 17s on my 17s furano?
Ok, so i have the tyre problem that everyone else has even though the dealer promised i wouldnt have it (b*stard)
Now i got that one out the way, I have a plan, to put 16 inch alloys on my car as that is what the TS2 has on it.
Now as far as i know, TS2 does not have this tyre eating issuse, but i want to know why.
The tyre is a 205, 55, R16 where my current ones at 205, 50, R17.
So the only difference is the sidewall height? How does this help, i would have thought it would make no difference.
So has anyone tried putting 16 inch wheels on, or have they gone the other way and put 19 or 20s on? Does it make a difference?

I'd try a change of tyre make first.
the sidewall should be a bit softer and more giving on a 55 profile as it will have more sidewall. extra 10mm
The problem sounds like more a combination of chassis ( sports models have 17's) suspension and tyre profile combined.
