04 Mazda 6 3.0 po340/p0345
Whats up guys im new here hope to get some feed back.
i will train to explain as best as possible.
i have an 04 mazda 6 3.0. I am currently getting p0340 and p0345 codes. For starters i was driving my car home after work one day tach went crazy car died. Took a second to fire up then had to limp it home going about 30mph. Through research I discovered it may need a timing job or that you could replace camshaft position sensors (CSPS) and the code would leave. I replaced both CSPS and when i fired the car up it started and idled perfectly for roughly a minute then died. Threw the same codes.
anyways i decided to get a timing kit (timing chains, guides, tensioners, gear, crank seal, timing gasket) i did end up just pulling my engine for easier access to everything. LONG STORY SHORT i have replaced timing kit, CSPS, Crankshaft position sensor, timing was set dead on. I have got everything back together car fires up everytime and idles perfectly fine maybe with minimal roughness to the idle (up and down idle but not rapid) if i hit the gas pedal CEL comes on tach goes crazy (dont have tach on start up). I did clear old codes before.
note: after re-installing the engine i have a black-green wire with no plug on it (comes from the same area the pigtails for the vvti solenoid, CSPS, and crank sensor come from) i am not sure if this wire needs to be grounded for these sensors to work properly.
All my sensors test within their respected tolerances. They get power.
i just dont know what else it may be if its not the wiring (some very questionable spots on my engine harness) my last option is believing the ecu may be bad.

Hi @Chanzm did you ever solve this? I have just purchased a 2.4 Mazda 6 2003 in Australia and have the same issue. Once I cleared code's its OK.. Starts and idles rough for about 5 seconds and then it's OK until I rev it past about 3 or 4k and tach goes stupid and CEL comes up and sounds like it's miss firing?
