04 Mazda 6 Idle Issues
Hi. I have issues with my idle once AC is engaged and or car put into reverse.
Car normally idles around the 600-800RPM after start up, takes 2-3 turns to start, idle is erratic and does not compensate once under load.
Runs well otherwise.
The car had front end damage at some stage, ECU changed overdue t replacement airbags.
No error code on computer.
Local mechanic feels that he has tracked problem to VVT Actuator, there appears to be a slight rattle down bottom end of timing chain area, I thought this was more to do once AC switched on.
Anyone have any ideas. Vehicle has done around 60,000 KLMs

That's low mileage. You must do a lot of city driving. I would at least: change spark plugs, PCV valve, clean throttle body, clean MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor).
Reset-ECU. This is a good start. Put in some fuel system cleaner.
