04' Mazda 6 Tranny question
My wife has a 2004 Mazda 6 that has the v6 in it with auto trans. It has 100,000 miles on it and we flushed the trans at 50,000 miles. My question is should we flush it again or have it service. It shifts fine and the fluid doesnt look burnt at all. Just want to do everything possible to make it last as long as can be. Also while im at it are there any common problems with this particular trans. Thanks for any input available.

trans
manual mentions nothing about intervals. Mazda USA says to talk to dealer who always says "bring it in".
Anyway, mine went 83k w/no service. Seems 50-75k is more than adequate. It is interetsting to note that power stering fluid in that car is actauly trans fluid if you follow their recmmendation. Anyway, trans will sometimes jerk in reverse if I am not at a ful stop, and sometimes drifting to a stop in sorta bumps down gear----but this could be normal and nothing to worry about. i'd wait to 100-125k, inspect fluid, and only replace if necesary.
Question to you: did you every change oil yourself? I am having a heck of a time finding a tool that takes oil filter off---autozone no help......

Thanks for the input! I have never changed oil myself because the dealership we purchased it from offers oil changes for $10! hard the justify doing it myself at that price! i have seen the tech doing it use a oil filter wrench that looks like a large pair of pliers! Hope that helps! Thanks again
