Question 04 mazda 6 - Is it worth it? (pics)

Hello, as i posted earlier, I am interested in buying either a mazda 3 hatch or a mazda 6. I found a mazda 6 sport edition for sale loacally. He says it's a 4 cylinder and is a 5 speed. According to him the car has absolutely no mechanical issues and he replaced the clutch at 85K. The car has 93K right now. He says he has documentation for all maintenance, especially clutch. Also, "it is a victim of the famous mazda LCD screen fading out." There is a spot on the passenger side (see in pics) where the paint is fading/peeling. He called me this morning and said if I bring $5,000 i can take it. Obviously, I will go take a look at the car before i commit to anything. But I'm just asking, is this a good buy at 5K ? Thanks. LCD screen problem can be due to aftermarket Ipod adapters and any thing spliced into dash wiring. Voltage is a funny thing

The four cylinder is cheaper to own. Engine problems are alot cheaper to fix. Always have an independent mechanic test drive and do an inspection, preferably one you trust. its worth the money for a Diagnosis in the long run even if you dont buy the car, even more if you dont buy the car!

I agree with the mechanic thing. I don't know if i should settle for this car , which is very nice so far. ( I'm going tomorrow night to test drive ). I kinda want leather interior.. and kinda wanted a v6, but that doesn't matter too much. I mean if this car is legit for only 5K I should get it. lol

Yeah it does, except the paint peeling on the passenger side by the window. And the bumper looks like it was scraped by something.

I had 04 mazda6 automatic. Most 04 had no side airbags. Is this one with 16 inches wheels or 17 inches wheels? The ride of 16 inches was much better than 17 inches.

If the clutch had to be replaced at 85K it was probably driven hard or incompetently. Pay a mechanic to check it out.
