Default 10 Things needed to fix the 2014 Mazda 6

Ok, I am new Mazda 6 GT owner and I have a few gripes. Yes, I know they will seem "picky"...But I think anyone with a ounce of engineering common sense would have recognized this before Mazda sent the 2014's out the door.

1) The rear back up radar detection...Doesn't it make sense that if the radar detects an object behind you on the right side of the vehicle, the audio alert of detection should come from the right side of the driver speaker? and conversely...for the left side?

1a) and the same thing for the blind spot monitor...doesn't it make sense if the Blind spot monitor detects a vehicle behind you on the driver side..an alert should sound on JUST the drivers side.

2)The Clock...Come on....buried down with the ac/heat controls...Doesn't it make 1,0000x more sense to put it up at eye level, say just above the touch screen?...or better yet..incorporated into the touch screen?

3) The touch screen....Come on..5.8 inches?...Some cell phones have bigger screens...seriously, they could have easily make it 7 inches(in the same opening) by making more updated physical buttons around the monitor, or incorporating all controls into the touch screen and done away with the physical buttons..god Mazda engineers, this is 2014..not 2001.

4-8) Software software software...Everything about the ipod integration is lacking, horrible load times, always repeating 1st same song, "shuffle" doesn't shuffle very well...it goes on and on..In a word Mazda engineers..HYNUDAI does a much better job with their touch screen and software for the audio system, Hands down my old 2012 Sonata Nav/audio system was better.

9) The door lock switch...it s black...on a black door....and it's not lighted?REALLY?..I mean...REALLY?..you couldn't spring for $3 per unit to install a LED on the lock/unlock button?

10) Horsepower...Mazda..I appreciate the idea of fuel efficiency,,I really do...But In order to get just "modest" performance for acceleration, I have to nearly "floor" the accelerator...Come on....forgo the "claim" of 38 mpg for this car..It will never get that in the real world(I know I never get about 33 mpg) and Reconfigure the accelerator to "default" perform normally(maximum performance), and give the driver a button to push to enable eco friendly driving(guess what...yes...my Hynudai Sonata had that too.. :-(

Sounds like you have some good suggestions. You should write a letter to Mazda and drop it off at your dealership, or apply for a job. The right left thing is neat, don't know how practical it is to do though.
A few bucks on each item adds up on profit!
Mazda "Zoom Zoom" philosophy has gone for a sh__it, time for a new slogan.
