Default 2 questions for you guys

Good morning or good evening!! I have been looking for windshield wiper cowls. I believe it is spelled cowls. Anyways. It usually is a piece of plastic or carbon fiber that hides the windshield wipers and provides better aerodynamics. And yes, I think it looks pretty sweet too. I looked for one for the 6 but could not find one. Does anyone have any ideas of who makes a wiper cowl for the 6?

Secondly, there are many "fuel savers" products available online. Are these as much asa gimmick as I think, or do these actually make a difference? Here is one example: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mazda...mZ120319888154

It even says:
Gain up to 35 MPG in Fuel Savings!!
Up to 25% fuel efficiency
Gain 10hp up to 100 HP or MORE
Gain 8 to 45 Ft Lbs of Torque or MORE

lol. What do you guys think? Does this product really work?

If it was that easy to get 25% better fuel efficiency and more power, don't you think Mazda would already have that programmed into their fuel mapping?

If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

The guys statements are contradictory.

Is it an increase of 35 mpg or a 25% increase in fuel efficiency....100hp increase? Please.

one would yield 60 mpg (assuming 25mpg baseline) the other 31.25mpg

It's as much of a gimmick as you think.

I agree w/SST!! They are there to take your money and that"s all you"ll get out of these gimmicks. Whenever there is a sharp increase in gas prices, these guys come out of the woodwork.

Now to the other question, I believe you mean air foils, though you did spell cowl correctly.
These were popular in the "80"s but went the way of the dodo bird. The reason is that they don"t do much, if anythingeither. Like any aerodynamic add-on, you have to have enough downforce to make it work, which usually above 80mph under normal circumstances.Remember a wiper blade (refill)is hinged so if you apply too much pressure to a wiper blade it"s ability to sweep back and forth is also limited.
