Default 2008 Suspension Question

Had a 2005 Mazda 6 sport, 4cyl. Felt great handled well. I liked it so much I bought an 08. Put my snows on and noticed that when I get on ice specifically when one side is on ice and the other on pave it feels like it is slipping out from under me. Even my passengers feel it. This is a very uncomfortable feeling for sure. I had the same snows on my 05 and it never felt like that. Does anyone know if there has been many changes to the suspension from an 05 to 08???

The 05-08 suspension are identical. Are your snow tires wearing down? I know that snow tires have a different compound in the first 30% or so of the tread that grips better than the remainder of the tire.

If you're on ice, I'm not surprised you feel slipping. Snow tires don't grip everything. (I run them on my wife's car and while they are an incredible difference over regular tires, you still have to exercise caution on slick roads.)

Problem is that I just removed the winters from my 05 and put them on the 08. Feels very strange. Think I'll get the alignment checked.

Took it in a beefed enough that they checked it out. Turns out the alignment was way off. Brand new car has 4000 km on it now and most of those on my snows guiess I should have a chat with them about the rear snow tires having excessive wear.[:@]
