Hi guys!!!
I'm new in this forum and it's looking great !!!
I'm looking to buy a 05 or 06 used 6 hatchback(less then 30 000 km)...I'm really don't know what to pick between the 4 cyl and the V6..i tried each one but didn't find the V6 so impressive...Can you tell me the best pick between them and why???
thanks

RE: 4cyl vs V6
well first off none of the Mazdas are particarly fast at all. I test drove the V6 and the I4 and I went with the I4. I am getting 30 mpg in the city right now. It has a good deal of torque once you hit 3500 rpms. But it isnt the power that sets the Mazdas apart from other cars in that price range. Everything just feels right! It is hard to feel that with a $15,000 to 25,000 car! But the V6 does have more power. But the I4 isnt far behing at all! The V6 is made by Ford. However, the V4 is built by Mazda. So go with the I4! Better mileage, quality and still can have some fun!

Theres no real difference but the Price and Horsepower The price difference is only about a few grand. I4 has 160HP, 155 Pounds Torque as the V6 has 220 Horsepower, 190 Pounds Torque. The body style of the I4 or V6 4-door or 5-door lift are the same. I bought an I4 and Im happy with it.

RE: 4cyl vs V6
I have a 2006 V6, so my comments may be biased.
I4: lighter and more even weight distribution will handle better.
V6: with more power, will go faster, use more gas and cost you more $ to buy/lease, maintain and don't forget insurance.
Both are good, so it depends on your driving and life style: car always loaded with people? city/HWY? manual or auto tranny?
I4 is more than adequate for most situations, V6 just go faster in a straight line and comes standard with 6 air bags plus other little things.
