Default AC problem

I have a 2006 mazdaspeed6. Something is wrong with my air conditioning. I think the compressor is out. But it seems when i put freon in it, it works fine for about a week, then it's nothing but hot air. Any ideas to what could be the problem?

If it works after you put freon in it for a short while, then your problem may be a leak somewhere in the lines. Not sure how to help you find out about that though, sorry.

If it is still under warranty, take it to a Mazda dealer. If not, then to an automotive AC specialist. They will remove the refrigerant and replace it with a floursecent dye, which they will then track for leaks using a black light.

Default leak

yeah it sounds like a leak. There is no way the freon could be depleted in one week.

I still haven't touched my A/C system since I bought my 6 in 05. It seems to do pretty well anyways. Although the black interior makes hot days worse.
