Default Air, A/C --Doing nothing at all

Okay so this is my first visit/post to the forum. I have a 2004 6 V6 . I dont know alot about cars so thats why im asking you..the pros. I live in a very hot climate but hardly use the AC. About a week ago I decided I would and nothing happened. No cold air , No hot air, notta zip zilch. The dash lights do go up and down as if it were working fine. What should I check? Is this common? Thanks

Just started having this problem, came to the forum to find info and found this thread. My 04 MZDA 6 has about 78k on it. Called the dealer and its still covered. They also said there is another recall for the car - MST 10 - dont know what it is yet but im getting ready to look for it. Im scheduled for repair on Tuesday.

No man there was no problem with the recall thing. Mileage wasnt an issue. But the problem still exist. Check my other thread , some people on here are helping me troubleshoot. Its called Freon help. Freon didnt fix it either but thats the thread were using.

IIRC, the early 6's had an issue with the fan control resister burning out prematurely. Could that be what you're experiencing? Does the fan work in vent or heat mode?

Then it just might be the control resistor.

Here's a thought, or perhaps a dumb idea, I really am not sure: What about resetting the PCM/ECU that seems to control nearly everything else in these cars?
To reset it (if you're interested in trying this,) disconnected the battery for at least 15mins. Reconnect the battery and go.
Hey! It seems to fix radio displays, reset CELs, etc and other stuff? Perhaps it'll fix your HVAC fan also???
