Default Air conditioning help

I have been searching forums all day and am my wits end, hopefully you can help me!

I have a 2007 Mazda 6 with the V6 and climate control. The air conditioning over the past summer has been less than good, and it has been to the Stealer twice. The A/C simply will not blow cold and the fan runs full blast all the time. We have tried every temperature and every setting and nothing has helped.

First time to the dealer it would not even blow cool, it was warm air when it was 80-95 degrees out. Dealer said it needed a recharge and it would be $140 to do that. Shocking to me that a 25 month old car would need this! My Chevy Tahoe is cold as a w$!*e and it is the same age. Never had an A/C go out even on 6 year old cars. So, we paid the charge and had it done. Next closest dealer is an hour away.

This did not help much, simply made the air cooler, but still luke warm at best. Would run full blast on any temperature, and any setting. Took it back to the Stealer and he said it now needed a new filter. He wanted $90 to replace this, but since I was damn near ready to kill him when he told me it was already changed and I had to pay the price, he only charged me for "parts", no labor. Wow, must have taken him 5 whole minutes.

This again help a little, but it is still a POS A/C. It was 78 degrees yesterday and I had it set anywhere from 70 all the way down to 60 and it did not change. We drove for about 45 minutes and the air coming out of it was 70 degrees at the coolest.

I am so sick and tired of this over the summer it has made me hate the car and vow I won't buy another Mazda ever, till the day I die. It has been a long hot summer here in Denver, and I expect a car as nice as this to be better. I sure would like to have my mind changed and hopefully you can help. Please...

Why wouldn't those items be covered under the 4 year bumper to bumper warranty? I don't think you should have been charged anything. Check your local lemon laws, but I believe if a vehicle goes back to the dealer more than 3 times for the same concern without resolution you may have a case for them to take the car back.

I've never had problems with my wife's 6 (over 76,000 miles on it now) and the AC blows nice and cold.

I would have expected the same but was told that A/C is only covered if it is a component break or leak that needs fixed. Since it just needed recharged I had to pay because that is considered routine maintenance, like changing the oil! Then the filter was too dirty and clogged, needed replacement and I would agree a filter would not be covered, but that did not fix it either.

They just don't seem to care at the dealers shop, the mechanic looked me right in the eye and told me there was nothing wrong with it, it was working to specs. But...if it does not cool the interior to 60 degrees when I have it set on that, it is not working!!!

Talk to Mazda USA, try another dealer, or get an opinion from an air cond. shop. Good Luck.

Sounds like a lousy dealer/stealer. New a/c systems shouldn't need to have freon replaced. It doesn't just wear out. If the systems "closed" then none should leak out. If there's a need for more freon to be added, then there is a leak, and the dealer should cover that. A bad & frustrating situation for you to be in

Know how u feel!
I just bought my 09 Mazda6 on 9/8/08.
A/C sucks big time. Same here I set it @ 70 & 78 outside & warm air comes out of the vents.
Only difference if I move dial to 60 then cold air will blast & all is great.
Thing is I should not have to keep changing the dials to get comfortable all the time.
18 new cars since I've beendriving & never one with problem with A/C.

I talked to my dealer today & he thinks it's the dash sensor in far left corner.
He feels my inspection sticker might be interfering with the sun shining in or something?
Glad winter is coming & sure hope I don't have to change dials all the time for the best heat

Glad winter is coming also, but I still have 2 summers left on the lease. I can tell you from my experience with this and some other quality issues it has been to the dealer for, I won't be buying again. I had a new 2004 Ford Explorer that went to the dealer 27 times in it's 3 year life with me. I am done with Ford/Mazda!

I can say that the heater has worked fine in the past, no issues there. But then it is not too hard to make heat from and engine!
