antifreeze(coolant) levels in mazda little below "low"
This is EU 2007 Mazda6 2.5 manual
Just wondering if this is an issue ... The engine antifreeze indication lamp on the dashboard is not on, indicating no problems. But when the car is cold, you can see no antifreeze in the visible part of the antifreeze container under the hood. After driving and resting the car, the container shows it has some antifreeze but it is still 2 cm below the "LOW" line.
Should I be worried about adding little antifreeze, I mean if it is coming out of the engine after driving, I have to be careful not to add too much as it may over-fill the container ?!?
PS. Do you guys have "red" and "blue" antifreeze types in your country ? Looks like a racket to have people change antifreeze often. Also the mazda manual seems to mandate FL22 type of coolant which seems exclusive to mazda.

You need to keep an eye on the coolant level. If you use a shop to change the coolant ask them to look for a leak. They can put a fluorescent dye in the coolant and pressurize the system. Then they use a black light to look for fluorescent traces.
Once you have the fluid changed and up to the proper mark keep track of the fluid level and how much it takes to fill it back up. That way you know if there is a leak and how bad it is.
