Default any success stories owning 04' Mazda 6

Just wanted to see if there are any success stories about owning a 2004 Mazda 6 over a 100k miles without a blown engine, blown trany, pcv valve issues... I bought my 04 Mazda wagon before reading this forum and I’m seeing the phrase “Ford Taurus” thrown around more than I like to see. Anything to calm me down would help.

What's wrong with the Taurus?..it's a very reliable car...boring but reliable. I've got 117,000 miles on my 2000now and it's still runs/drives like new averaging 24-26 mpg.

I also have a 2004 Mazda6 Sportwagon with 72,000+ miles with no problems either, interior is still like new...it seems to burn a little oil between changes and I have picked up a new PCV to install (cheap part) as a precautionary measure.

Well, my '04 6S Wagon has only 48500 miles on it, but so far there have been no unexpected glitches whatsoever.I know this doesn't answer your question about "past-100k miles". But so far so good in my 21k miles of ownership, which includes a trip to-and-from the beach (4hrs each way), and a trip to-and-from Cleveland OH (8hrs each way).

I can't answer about an '04, but my '03 6S has 152000+ miles and still runs like new (except for the %^$*#& fan control module).

Haven't you had the dealer take care of that? If you're in the affected vehicle range and haven't had it fixed yet for the TSB they should replace it regardless of miles.

My wife's car had that problem, but no issues since the fix. (A very simple fix...15 minutes in and out.)

It was fixed in 2004 in the original recall. When the letter came out last year, I asked about it when I was having some other work done. I didn't have the letter with me, I just had a vague memory of getting one. The dealer I saw said that they would check it but if they found anything I'd have to pay for it since my car was out of warranty. They said it was OK, but then about a week later it started acting up. I've since found the letter and I will take it back, just haven't gotten around to it yet.

My '04 Mazda6 is the Sport 5 Door with the 3.0L V6 in it. It's been to Miami(35 hours one way) and back and Ottawa (24 hours one way) and back From Winnipeg. The only issue I've had so far was a minor leak in a power steering hose. The car has 70000+ kms on it.
