Automatic tran with manual shifter
Wondering if anyone knows if using the manual shifter with the automatic transmission saves any gas mileage? Is it meant to be used on a regular basis or only for hills, quicker starts, etc...

From what I've noticed, in manual, you can save gas, but nothing worth celebrating. I usually only use the manual option because I can't stand how slow the automatic is. So far, everything is great witht the manual.

i think the auto tranny shifting sucks. one time i went on a run and i shifted a lot, the gear got stuck and wouldn't shift right after 5 to 10 min run. the number on the dash where it shows u what gear you are in disappeared. after an hour later when i went home, turn my engine off, and turn it back on again.. the number apears again. ...

it does save gas but only if you shift it correctly
shift early and leave it in high gear when you slow down but dont bogg the engine
you should see a few mpg increase over a long drive through the citty or back road

RE: Automatic tran with manual shifter
Shoot I wish mine would get 25 mpg I am lucky to get 25 on the interstate. I got a 2004 6s with 20k miles on it and it is getting about 20 in the city. Is there anything I can do to boost my mpg that is a quick and easy fix? I will try that with my slap stick and see if that helps out any I know it can't hurt. Thanks!!

verrry sharp looking car.... that lapis blue looks sporty! Your best bet would probably be to purchase a cold air intake which could run you around $220 for a pretty nice one. You can also a grounding kit which can allow you to get around 12% better mpg rating. A quick example of that grounding kit would be on this link here.... SFX Performance . This is not the best but for the price, it will do the job with ease.
