blew engine. swap?
i blew the engine in my moms mazda 6 and i get to have it now and i was wondering if i should put a V6 in. i have read that anything is possible but i didnt read if it would still be reliable enough to be a daily driver. i realize a turbo would be better price wise but my parents are paying for the engine and i would then go back later and buy a turbo myself.
i say V6 but what i mean is, could/should i put in something other than stock for performance purposes without compromising reliability
this is probably a stupid question but im kind of confused and pretty much just looking for confirmation for what ive thought up and read on the internet.
i hope this makes sense

Im not a huge expert but i think if you put a V6 in the 6i then you probably have to swap out the tranny as well because it would not be able to handle the power increase and you would be buying a new one of those as well.
I would advice sticking to the oem engine. Not sure if my reasoning makes sence mechanically but logically i think it does.

Translation of Shel's post: Swap = super expensive and I'll add in that it's going to be time consuming. You are better off just getting a new 4cyl in this case. Unless you can do the swap your self, then it's up in the air and will depend on how much you want those extra two cylinders.
