I performaned a brake flush on my 04 mazda6 a few weeks ago and it didnt seem to have any green color to it. What I did think was weird is when I went to the dealer to buy brake fluid so I could perform the flush the siad they dont sell it over the counter. I just ended up using the same brake fluid volkswagen uses because I work for them, and I figured it would be the same ****.

Does your dealer sell used cars? Any Mazda 6's laying around? That is total bull**** that they wont cover the warranty. I would take it straight to the Mazda corporation. The manager is avoiding costs becuase the fluid is not what he "thinks" it should be, without testing it. Make a suit against them, they didnt test it blah blah, and make sure to get it your way. Also, pop the hood off of some other Mazda 6's around the area with mileage on them, is it green?
If youve been honest with them and really didnt add anything in it, then i would say go for the claim.

HOpe it works out for ya

I agree 100% 06BLACKSPORTS. There is not a recall issue that needs to be looked at but only as 87TURBO states that is just the color of the fluid. Maybe they used some magnesium in the master cylinder alloy and that is causing that unusual color but is not cause for alarm. I have been dealing with 6's that have over 100k on them with that fluid and brake hydraulics are still just fine. Go look at dot 5 fluid at the store, it is purple but that is not abnormal either. The only abnormal thing is that this dealer is claiming contamination without looking into the facts of having the fluid tested to see if contamination is present but just going off of the color. I posted a pic of the other fluid because that is what they all pretty much look like. Take a look at the brake fluid in an 04 and later B-truck and you will most probably find the same fluid color. I did. The dealer is wrong in calling contamination without proper testing is all I was saying.

i alerted the mazda corp of the situation and they said that if you have a problem with a dealership, they will contact the dealership and resolve the situation hopefully. that is what they said to me on the phone... maybe they were just blowing smoke up my *** but this is an email the guy sent me saying that whoever has this problem with the green brake fluid and the dealership refuses to honor it as a warranty claim, contact them and they will investigate it.

Thank you for contacting Mazda.

Please provide me with your VIN and the name of the dealer that you had
this conversation with so I may look into this matter. Thank you in
advance for your cooperation. I look forward to your reply.
