I have had the AEM CAI for over 2 years now and no related CEL's. I highly recommend it based on value. It gave my car incredible throttle response down low, increased drivability at lower RPMs and a noticable gain over 4500 RPMs when compared to the stock piece of crap air intake!!!

Alot of people buy the CP-E because of the modifier that is included in their kit. Itdoes add to the power benefit and help guarantee no CEL's. Remember, though, that the CP-E is nearly double what the AEM CAI is and only gives you a modest improvement over it. The placement of the MAF is where some CAI's had problems and therefore set a CEL (read: Injen!). Alot of Injen buyers bought the CP-E modifier to fix their cars so that they would not set CEL's. It just depends what you want to spend. While there is no doubt about the quality of the CP-E kit, the AEM CAI is a better value.

any cai but the cp-e one will EVENTUALY throw a cel.. zoom u say modest difference? a regualar cai is gonna get 2-3hp if ur lucky.. the cp-e has been dyno proven to give you atleast 17hp. Just buy the cp-e one and be done with it.. you can get the tuneable version and gain another 10hp to the wheels.. even more if you have other mods.. i bought the aem intake the first time and got rid of it and got the cp-e.

I am waiting for a group buy on a cp-e, yeah it costs a lot, but it will be much hassle-free down the road.

good luck waiting for one.. i think there was only 1 group buy ever on the cp-e intakes. contact donny at www.therpmstore.com and ask him if he plans on doing one in the near future.
