Default CAI worth it?

Hi everyone! I bet this was posted already but here goes. Is a CAI really worth it. I am thinking of buying the K + N for my 2.3 liter. Just wanted to know if anyone has any regrets on paying 200.00 + for 6 to 10hp gains.?

well if you're an enthusaist then yeah it's worht it. K&N is one of the manufacterers that will actually give you a gain you can feel in th edrivers seat. If somethin gmore important like school or living expenses are hard to pay or close calls, you may want to deal with them till you are at a better point in your life. Just be responsible with the money. It will be fun and it will be cool and permanet but don't screw yourself over. Hope I helped.

For now you could do the air box mod to get an idea of what you will get with a CAI. I mean it is free and does sound pretty nice on the v6, not too sure about how it sounds on the 6i.

i have no regrets on paying ~200 for my CAI its not K&N (cuz they said it would cost me $300) but my AEM saves me alot of gas and it gives a VERY noticable diff performence

appently it is but there is no real way to find out unless you either know what really goes into the development of intakes in general, or test the diff between them yourself, again all an intake really is a aluminum pipe with a filter, but i guess the quality, the angle of the bends, size, length, and the really effect the effectiveness of it.

I don't know about the Mazda6 specifically but the K&N setup normally has about a 3-6 hp gain over other companies. Most gains for that brand are around 12hp or so

I had a AEM short ram intake for my 6 for a while. It made this cool sucking sound plus made the engine have a different roar sound to it. Does the K+N CAI produce the same sound? I hope so. I liked that sound in the AEM!
