I've been running with pennzoil..... but i dont want my engine to grenade if i switch over to a full synthetic. I have only done 2 oil changes in which have used pennzoil oil synthetic blend. Do you think I can safely switch over to another oil without having problems? Maybe I'll use mobile 1

Try to confirm if Pennzoil synthetic is paraffin (wax) based or not. If it is, you can do an oil change with Mobil 1 Synthetic, run the engine for a short while, then do another oil change immediately after. This would flush out the oil system. Any paraffin build-up would have been flushed to the filter, then when you change the oil the second time you should have a clean oil system. Keep a close eye for the "OIL" light to come on (meaning low oil pressure.) after the first oil change. If it does, kill the engine immediately and change the oil & filter.

RE: Can I try high octane fuel and after turn back to low?
I FOUND THIS INFO:
Concern:
Ticking noise during slow driving manoeuvres, RPM between idle and 1200 rpm.
Cause:
On 2004 V-6 models, the purge solenoid valve is mounted to the firewall, and transfers noise to the passenger compartment. The ticking noise is similar to a lifter or piston wrist pin noise. On 2005 Mazda6 V6, the purge solenoid is mounted differently, and therefore not affected.
Correction:
To diagnose, remove the purge solenoid valve from the firewall and test drive the vehicle. If the noise is not present, replace the purge solenoid valve.

RE: Can I try high octane fuel and after turn back to low?
I am wondering if euro24 is experiencing the camshaft tick noise concern. You indicate that it only occurs at idle so the octane rating of the fuel would be irrelevant. If you are experiencing pinging or pre-detonation at idle your engine needs more help than higher octane fuel!!! The camshaft ticking complaints I have had have been primarily with the Tribute in my area but TSB covers the range of Tribute, Mazda 6, and MPV. They are all the same engines anyway for the V6. Here is the TSB. Has been out for quite a while but repair procedure has changed to this current one. Note the "noise occurs at normal operating temperature" All that I have run accross have been fairly quiet cold but noise increases and peaks as engine warms up.

2001-2005 TRIBUTE, 2003-2005 MAZDA6, 2002-2005 MPV - 3.0L - CAMSHAFT TICK NOISE
NOTE: This bulletin replaces 01-012/03. Please update your records accordingly.
BULLETIN NOTE
This bulletin supersedes the previous bulletin 01-012/03, issued on 4/21/2003. The APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS, REPAIR PROCEDURE, WARRANTY INFORMATION have been revised.
APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS
2001-2005 Tribute (3.0L Only)
2003-2005 Mazda6 (3.0L Only)
2002-2005 MPV
DESCRIPTION
Some vehicles equipped with the 3.0L engine may exhibit a ticking noise from the left bank cylinder head, with the engine at normal operating temperature.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Verify customer concern.
If the engine is equipped with a tensioner for the water pump belt, Proceed to Step 2.
If the engine is not equipped with a tensioner for the water pump belt, Proceed to Step 3.
WARNING: To avoid body injury and/or parts damage, make a dry run of the following step on how you will avoid moving parts with the pry bar before you take the following step.
2. With the engine running at operating temperature, use a pry bar against the belt tensioner to increase and decrease tension on the water pump belt. If the noise changes, proceed to Step 4.
3. Use a stethoscope and conventional diagnostics to localize the sound. If the noise comes from the left bank valve cover area, proceed to Step 4.
4. Remove the left bank valve cover according to applicable Workshop Manual.
5. Rotate the engine clockwise until the 6 cam lobes are pointing up (valves are fully closed).
6. Remove all intake camshaft caps.
NOTE: The camshaft caps must be completely lifted off and then set back into position. Loosing and re-torquing cap bolts is not sufficient.
7. Reinstall all camshaft caps and torque bolts in sequence shown in above figure, to 8 Nm (72 lb-in).
8. Reinstall the left bank valve cover.
9. Verify repair.

RE: Can I try high octane fuel and after turn back to low?
I thought my problem is simple, just like "...odometer is clicking, usual noise...,etc.". But now I'm confused again, after readin two last posts, I'm not a mechanic, I even do not know where the valves are
MAZDASERVISE, I noticed you wrote about Mazda 2004, but I own Mazda issued in 2003, maybe it makes any difference, I hope, because it's ticking only at idle, but when I drive it's gone, moreover when my car at idle I can hear a noise only from outside it never heard inside. The nearest dealership as far as 200 kilometers from me, I'm not sure If I should take my car there again. My car warranty expires on March 2006, and I'm goin to take it to my dealership for oil, filters change, etc.
So will you still suggest me to try higher octane, or it will not make any sense?
P.S. I apologize for my bad English.

Unless your car is tuned for it, higher octane will decrease your mileage and performance. As far as synthetic and dino oil. You can switch back and forth all you want. If you want to learn more than you could possibly imagine about oil, try bobistheoilguy.com. Great site for anything related to oil.
Our engines are very noisy. I have a 3 month old 06 and it's terrible standing in front of it. All kinds of sounds coming from it. It's fine, though.
