Can i use new mazda 6 wheels?
Hi everyone, im new here, im from indonesia..
i just bougt mazda 6 last week (Hatchback year 2002, type GG i think), and now i need information and help from you guys..
so the normal measurement for the old mazda 6 rims & tires are (i hope this is correct):
1. 6Jx16 - 195/65
2. 7Jx16 - 205/55
3. 7Jx17 - 215/45
4. 7Jx18 - 215/45
and now i want to install the rims & tires from the new mazda 6 (type GH) to my old mazda 6, can i do that? will this rims fit to my mazda 6? will this difference cause a problem?
the new mazda 6 rims & tires measurement is: 6.5Jx16 - 205/60
sorry for my english, i hope you can understand.. thanx a lot for your help guys..

Your English is perfect, monzlho!! Better than some of us that should know better.
Welcome aboard the Mazdaforum!!
I am not aware that Mazda changed the wheel specifications for the new car. I would think they would fit just fine. Wheel off-set should be a concern too, but again, I doubt its enough of a difference to worry that much about. Your car should have a wheel off-set of +60mm. Usually, offset is stated in mm's and is stamped somewhere on the inside (usually) of the wheel.
Of course the sidewall of the tire you mentioned will be a little taller. No question about that, so your speedometer will be off a bit, but it will read low so you will actually be going faster than you think you are. Not by much though.
Here are some general examples:
When your speedo reads 35mph, you will actually be traveling approximately 36.14mph.
50mph=51.62
65 mph=67.11
So the difference isn't really all that much.
