Default Car won't start without being rolled.

I am looking at buying a 2003 V6 mazda6 5spd. It has 75,000 miles and has sat in a field for the last year. It will not start unless pushed. Sounded like the starter at first. But on rare occasions it will start without a push. So that made me wonder. The trunk will not open by pushing the button either, so I am worried this car may haveelectrical troubles. Any one had this problem or heard of this problem before. How hard is it to change the wiring harness if necessary? I am fairly mechanical savy if that helps at all.

thanks

I'd probably NOT buy it, but if you are giving it serious consideration I'd get the car THOROUGHLY THOROUGHLY THOROUGHLY inspected.

A car sitting in a field for a year was subject to considerable rodent damage to the wiring. The intermittent starter sounds like an actuator problem, but there's no way to tell without diagnosis. The trunk button is probably not working due to a severed wire, thanks to mouse teeth. God knows what else has been chewed on...I'd leave it if I were you. If the main harness has been compromised, money better start growing on trees at your house.

JMW,

Is it just a flat battery? What's your Voltmeter telling you?
