Cheaper option for 2008 Mazda 6 radio dash kit?
I just got a 2008 Mazda 6 and I want to add a new head unit for Bluetooth. My only experience with installing aftermarket radios was with a 2010 Corolla and all the necessary parts were super cheap, so I was surprised to find out the dash kit for a 2008 Mazda 6 was $200:
After looking into it I understand the price. There’s added circuitry and wiring to move around the hazards button and AC controls – but still! I checked all over the internet but that price seems to be par for the course. I did find this option for $70, but it’s only for 9” radio units, and none of those seemed very good.
Does anyone have any suggestions or alternatives? Maybe I can modify that cheaper kit to fit a 6.2”/7” touchscreen unit? I was hoping to get something with Android Auto and a backup camera, but at this rate I might be stuck with one of those janky Bluetooth FM transmitters!
Any help would be much appreciated! Also, apologies if this has come up already. I did some quick searches but didn't come up with anything.
