Check Engine Light
Well I thought i would ask fellow mazda owners about this problem i am having before i go and spend a fortune with the dealership.
The problem i am having isnt anything i can feel or see, its my check engine light that keeps coming on and i ran a diagnostic on it and the code that came up was P 2088, saying CAM SHAFT POSTION A ACUTATOR, ACUTATOR BANK ONE CIRCUT LOW.
If anyone knows what this is saying and if you know what it means let me know ASAP thanks i hope someone can help me.

RE: Check Engine Light
P2088 in indictating a fault in the OCV or Oil Contol Valve circuit. The OCV is the actuator that controls the variable valve timing of the intake valves by changing engine oil flow thru the camshaft. If you have the 4 cylinder then of course you only have one OCV mounted right in the top of the valve cover towards the front of the engine. If you have the V6 engine then code is indicating fault in the right bank actuator only. Most probable cause would be a faulty actuator but should at least be checked first to make sure it was not left disconnected or otherwisehas aweak electrical connection. Internal measured resistance of the actuator should be very close to 7ohms. At the very least try to first disconnect the actuator electrical connector and then reconnect, clear the code and see if if resets.
