Check engine light already....
I got a new mazdaspeed6 grand touring 3 days ago, Saturday. I absolutely love the car, no problems or complaints whatsoever. Then this morning after pulling out of my parking spot and driving down the road to work I noticed my check engine light was on. No unusual sounds, no unusual smells. What the hell? Has anyone had or heard of this problem this quickly. I have 226 miles on my car, HELP!

RE: Check engine light already....
WOW...the same thing happened to me at about 230-240 miles. I was at a stop light in neutral, car shook for a bit and the ligt went on, I didn't have time to take into the dealerrship but it just went away on its own after a few days and has not come back.

I am always just driving when mine comes on. no symptoms whatsoever. I am slowly adding aftermarket accessories to my car so I think they are trying to blame the acessories for the light coming on. Even though the only accessory I have right now is a neon kit, they are saying that the lights are causing a draw from the battery and a sensor is kicking on the CEL.

sounds like bs to me, mazda needs to take car of this pretty quick or they may be losing a customer or two in the future. I realize the CEL usually isn't a sign of an engine life threatening problem, but it should still be addressed and if this keeps coming up who wants to make all those trips to the dealer.

Yes...BS is exactly what it is, but hopefully you will have better luck than I have been having. Unless they actually know the cause they might just tell you not to top off your tank and make sure you click the cap at least 3 times and reset the CEL. It will be interesting to see what they say to you since you don't have any accessories added on. Can't wait to find out.
